If we would have been in school this week, we would have been preparing for our special celebration of May Crowning! The Fifth graders would have this Mass. Along with providing us with beautiful Marian music, they would have done the readings, and would have brought flowers and candles in and placed them around our Mary Statue. Our 2nd graders would have processed in wearing their First Communion Clothes! The Church would have been beautiful - mainly because all of you would have been there! In our liturgy lesson, we will hear about our May Crowning, the Consecration to Mary, and we will learn the Responsorial Psalm for this coming Sunday's Mass!

On Friday, May 1st, Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles and president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has announced that the U.S. bishops will join the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in renewing the consecrations of the two nations to the care of our Blessed Mother.
Later this week, Fr. Mike will give us more information about this and how we can participate in this special event! One way to begin preparations for this it to place a blessed statute of Mary in a visible place in your home and offering this prayer to our Blessed Mother. Another thing that can be done is to place an icon, statue or nativity set of the Holy Family in a prominent place in your home, and ask St. Joseph to protect your home and your family with the same devotion as he had when taking care of Mary and Baby Jesus. How blessed we are to have Mary and the Holy Family as a part of our faith during these difficult times! |
